2026 CRPC Skeet Fun Shoot
The Coast Rifle & Pistol Club recently hosted a Skeet Fun Shoot that brought together shooters from across the region for a day of competition, camaraderie, and great food. With participants traveling from Louisiana, Alabama, and even Michigan, the event highlighted both the strong regional interest in skeet shooting and the welcoming reputation of CRPC.

Fifteen shooters took to the skeet field, forming three full squads and competing in a friendly but spirited match. When the scores were tallied, two Mississippi shooters rose to the top. CRPC members and Mississippi residents Bubba Russell and Clay Newbill claimed first and second place, respectively. Both competitors are also members of the National Skeet Shooting Association and represented Mississippi—and CRPC—well.

But the day was about much more than scores. Including family members and friends, roughly fifty people gathered to enjoy the event and the atmosphere around the skeet field. After the competition wrapped up, everyone was treated to a classic Gulf Coast seafood lunch featuring fried shrimp, fried fish, and all the fixings.

Events like this don’t happen without dedicated volunteers. A special thank-you goes out to the many sponsors and workers who helped make the shoot possible. The skeet program also expressed appreciation to the Coast Rifle & Pistol Club leadership team for their support, especially Brian Harmon for his assistance in helping the event run smoothly.

Visitors from out of state had many compliments about the club, the facilities, and the hospitality they experienced throughout the day—something CRPC members take great pride in. The Skeet Fun Shoot proved once again that the Coast Rifle & Pistol Club isn’t just a place to shoot—it’s a place where shooters come together, compete, share a meal, and enjoy the shooting sports in a friendly and welcoming environment.
