Light winds don't always mean better scores...

Spring 2026 Season
Week 5 Recap
This season is going very well. Participation has been excellent with nine new members joining the League. Next week we will be at the halfway point in the season. I ran a quick calculation on raw score improvement comparing week one to week five. There is roughly a 3.5 point improvement since week one which is a significant increase considering most of your scores are above 190. Many of you are starting to notice the effects of the wind and are starting to make adjustments for that and have done a good job of finding the ammo that their gun likes. This is important and necessary for improvement in this sport. The wind conditions Tuesday evening were much better than last week. However, about half of the group had slightly better scores last week than they did this week. Go figure. Even the slightest wind will have an effect on your shot placement with .22 rimfire. I think some of us may have gotten a little over confident due to the better conditions. I know I did.
